Ffilm Cymru Wales

Established in 2006 and formerly known as the Film Agency for Wales, Ffilm Cymru Wales has a remit to help to develop a film sector in Wales and maximise the economic, educational and cultural benefits of film.

Ffilm Cymru Wales supports Welsh or Wales-based writers, directors and producers with development and production funding, industry assistance and mentoring opportunities.

We aim to bring film makers and audiences together by encouraging more people to see more films in more venues. We also promote the use of film in education and community regeneration, producing educational resources in conjunction with teachers to aid literacy and general learning.

Cine-Regio representative - Mrs. Pauline Burt

Pauline is the founding CEO of Ffilm Cymru Wales, formerly Film Agency Wales, having previously worked in commercial film and television finance at London based Mansfield Associates, as Risk Manager to financiers such as the Royal Bank of Scotland and Rand Merchant Bank.

Prior to that, Pauline headed up production at Sgrin, the former Media Agency for Wales and worked at Scottish Screen as their Script and Finance Analyst.

Pauline enjoys working across Ffilm Cymru’s remit from developing new inclusion training programmes and education initiatives to spark the imagination of the next generation, to exploring new opportunities through hybrid distribution, and supporting many varied features from new, emerging and established talent.

Feature credits include Mike Barker's A Good Woman with Scarlett Johansson and Helen Hunt; Gaby Dellal's Sundance opener, On A Clear Day; Chris Smith's debut Creep; Peter Cattaneo's Opal Dream; John Duigan's Head in the Clouds starring Charlize Theron and Penelope Cruz; and more than 40 features brought to the screen since founding Ffilm Cymru Wales, from Richard Ayoade’s Submarine, to Kieran Evans’ BAFTA winning Kelly + Victor, Gideon Koppel’s poetic Sleep Furiously and sci-fi success The Machine.

Starting out, Pauline studied Film and Media at Stirling University before winning a scholarship to UCLA’s Producers' Program, where she interned for international sales agent, August Entertainment and Alan Ladd Jnr's The Ladd Company at Paramount. Pauline is a member of the European Film Fund body Cineregio; Creative Skillset’s national Advisory Board for Wales, and the National Library of Wales advisory committee; and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
