Canary Islands Film - Canarias Cultura en Red

CANARY ISLANDS FILM is a brand that binds together the Audiovisual Department of the Canary Islands Government (active since 2005) with the main institutions and companies from the Canary Islands, including the Film Commissions and the companies and professional associations.

We're active in two main lines of work. One of them is the promotion of the Islands for national and international shootings and animation companies, and the other is the promotion of the talent from the Canary Islands, including funding films created by the canarian filmmakers.

As a collective Film Commision, we supply information about locations and tax incentives to help companies to establish, work and shoot in the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands offer a 40% tax rebate (compatible with an income tax rate of 4%) and an average temperature of 23ºC in Summer and 19º in Winter, amazing landscapes and experienced crews. Also, we collaborate in the ongoing training of the local workforce to adapt their skills to the needs of the market.

We also give support to our filmmakers and producers with development and production funding. We contribute as well with assistance and mentoring through many programmes. We run CreaDoc, our annual documentary workshop, and back many training initiatives on issues as international distribution, executive production and project development. We promote our filmmakers in international festivals and other events and assist in the distribution of short films.
