Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma


Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma is the regional film fund in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for feature films. 

Activities of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinema:

· promote and renew French and European feature films
· enhance the region as a major movie set, located in the heart of Europe, rich in great locations (naturals and man made), with good logistics, accomodation (hotels, restaurants, road, rail and air), and human resources (actors and crew)
· develop the film industry in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, source of significant economic benefits and jobs
· promote the region at national and international level, thanks to movies that are broadcasted everywhere in the world
· promote films coproduced in the region, particularly among young people. 

Production

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma invests as a coproducer in film production in exchange of a percentage of receipts.
The contribution of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinema is not a subsidy.
Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinema does not directly produce films.
The investments are mainly financed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region in partnership with the National Center for Cinema (CNC). Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinema has an annual investment capacity of 3 to 4 millions euros, consisting of contributions from the Region and the CNC, and the revenue generated by the exploitation of films. Investments focus on feature films shoot significantly in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region agreed by the National Center for Cinema (CNC). Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes Cinéma invest on average 10 to 15 films per year. Since 1991, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma co-produced over 280 films. It is the largest regional fund supporting creation and film production in France after the Ile de France Region (Paris).

Distribution and promotion

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma supports the promotion and distribution of the films co-produced.

Authors desk

Prior to co-producing a film, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinema Cinema may be involved in financing the first steps of project development, especially during the screenplay writing period. Authors desk is responsible for monitoring these projects, particularly those of regional authors.

Cine-Regio representative - Mr Grégory Faes


Mr. Grégory Faes served as a Junior Executive of SOFICA (Investimage et Sofiarp) and IFCIC (Institut pour le Financement du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel). Since 1994, Mr. Faes has also been engaged in Euro Média Garantie, which is a collaboration with the goal to create a European mechanism when it joined to bank credits for cinema and the audiovisual sector. Mr. Faes has been a Director of Rhône-Alpes Cinéma since 1994. He has a degree at a Paris university, in Financial Direction, specialized on Enterprises within the Cultural Sector.
