Year 2013

 

25th September , the 8th annual regional meeting was held in Krakow, Poland, hosted by Krakow Regional Film Fund, Krakow Festival Office, Krakow Film Commission and Film Commission Poland.
At the meeting was presented the funding scheme of our new members Cinéforom from Switzerland and Silesia Film Fund from Poland. We also discussed the EU-US free Trade Agreement (TIPP) and Cinema Communication, which you can read here at the website, under "Press". It was also announced the 2014 Action plans of three of the Cine-regio subgroups; Animarco Regio, Kids Regio and Green Regio. 

Annual Regional Meeting, Krakow 2013

 

On 13th June an Animarco Regio meeting took place during Annecy Film Festival.
For the year 2013 following three topics has been in focus: 1. Update of matrix on funding schemes; 2. Mapping out and prepare list of script doctors specialized in the field of animation; 3. Exchange of views on animation clusters. 

 

General Assembly, Cannes May 2013

On May 20th 2013, the annual General Assembly was held in Cannes. This year a great deal of the meeting focused on two urgent topics, both representing a total shift in EU policy towards the film sector, namely the current review of the draft Cinema Communication and the EU-US TIPP negotiation mandate which are foreseen to include audiovisual services.
 



We also welcomed four new members to the Cine-Regio network:
• Cinéforom, Geneva (CH)
• Sardegna Film Foundation (IT)
• Silesia Film (PL)
• Filminvest Midt-Norge (NO)

The General Assembly elected as new board members: Gerlinde Seitner, Vienna Film Fund (AU), Katarina Krave, Film I Väst (SE); Manfred Schmidt, MDM (DE). Also, the General Assembly approved as chairman: Mr. Philippe Reynaert, Wallimage (BE). 

 

Kids-Regio and The Financing Forum for Kids Content jointly hosted a one-day seminar which took place in Malmö, Sweden on 11th March. The seminar was
designed to provide useful stimuli for producers, distributors and other professional industry players working with producing and financing children’s content in film, television, games, cross- and transmedia. 

 

CRIC CRAC logo

Thursday 7 March, the Cine-Regio subgroup Animarco-Regio gathered in Lyon, France. One of the big topics on the agenda was the CRIC CRAC (Cine-Regio International Contest for Creative Animation Contribution) award 2012. It was also discussed: How to stimulate trans-regional co-productions in an animation Festival and the use of script doctors in animation. Current work in progress includes info on members' funding guidelines and putting together a list of European script doctors in animation.
 

 

Strategic meeting, Hamburg 2013

11 February, 2013, the Cine-Regio members met in Berlin, Landesvertretung Hamburg, for a Strategic Meeting. On the agenda was a presentation of the Cine-Regio Focus Report 2013 "Well-being and why regional film funds should care" and discussion on the latest news regarding the draft Cinema Communication.

Furthermore, there were reports from the Cine-Regio Subgroups: Kids-Regio, Animarco-Regio and Docu-Regio.
