SOUTHERN TRANSDANUBIA FILM FUND
The Southern Transdanubia Film Fund Project is one of those initiatives that have started to build up the Hungarian system of regional film funds. During the last years the film industry has been developing fast in Hungary, however the centre of the activities remained in Budapest for a long time. The city of Pécs is the first, and up to now the only, city in Hungary that has established a film commission, that also contributes to the organization of annual film events.
The main goal of The Southern Transdanubia Film Fund Project is to enhance the film initiatives and to strengthen the film industry's basis in the Pécs region. The film fund plans to support film productions, young artists as well as film education. The film fund project cooperates with the MMK (Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary) the Visual Art Faculty of the University of Pécs, the Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering (University of Pécs) the Greenhill Studios Company (studio facilities) and the Studio Beastarts Company (3D Digital Animation Studio).
