Screen South is passionate about developing a dynamic environment in which film and media culture can flourish. Screen South aims to:
*Provide the first port of call for funding and information relating to film in the region.
*Collaborate with existing organisations to develop hubs of activity and expertise.
*Encourage networking and collaboration between media practitioners.
*Work with the industry to set standards for excellence, creativity and innovation.
*Act as an advocate for the region’s film and media industry nationally and internationally.
*Promote the profile of the region to attract inward investment.
*Find creative ways of developing audiences for film and the moving image, promoting opportunities for education and wider access.
*Act as a key route for the flow of information between the Film Council, regional organisations and film makers.

Cine-Regio representative - Mrs. Jo Nolan


Jo Nolan was appointed as Chief Executive of Screen South in August 2005. Jo had been Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Regional Development and Production at Screen South since November 2004. Jo’s background includes producing and company management across a wide spectrum of film, media and arts; including theatre, publishing; design and training both nationally and internationally. She has also worked in project and event management from comic art galleries to corporates and local authorities. Jo has extensive experience in independent film production, having worked in most roles from Art Department to first AD and Producing. She has delivered over 50 productions including features, award winning shorts, corporate videos and music promos, including the first interactive music DVD for acclaimed band “Orbital” which won international industry acclaim. Jo studied for her BA Hons Expressive Arts in Brighton and PG Dip /MA in New Media & Film in Birmingham. Jo is a voting BAFTA member and a fellow of the RSA.
