KIDS REGIO

KIDS REGIO is a new initiative for European co-productions of children’s and youth films. The long term goal is to initiate a new network which shall help to improve the basis for valuable and promising European co-productions.
In order to achieve this regular network, meetings are established with expert working groups. These network meetings are also targeting producers, authors, directors, distributors and sales companies, and they are taking place in the respective partner regions.

The first KIDS REGIO Initial Expert Meeting took place on March 14th 2008 in Malmø, Sweden during BUFF International Children and Young People´s Film Festival and BUFF Financing Forum (March 13-15 2008).
This first meeting aimed to explore conditions, possibilities and interests in the Cine-Regio members’ regions/states with regard to financing, funding, production, distribution and training programmes for children's and youth films.
In addition to the meeting it was also possible for the participants to attend BUFF Financing Forum’s events such as pitching sessions, panels, and receptions; and to watch films in the BUFF Festival programme.

KIDS REGIO is an initiative by Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) within the frameworks of Cine-Regio, in co-operation with BUFF Financing Forum and Film i Skåne.
