Year 2005

In Vienna, March 2005, several Cine-Regio members met with colleagues from Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland to discuss the state of the Central and Eastern European cinematographies, and to explore what role Cine-Regio should play in helping to develop regional film funds in the new EU member states. Four producers from Austria and Poland presented case studies of successful East-West co-productions. At the Vienna meeting the future of Cine-Regio was discussed, as the ECRIF-project/Interreg IIIC was coming to an official end on 31 March 2005. The members decided to continue and develop the actions already begun by ECRIF-project/Interreg III.

In November 2005, an official meeting took place in Göteborg, Sweden, between the Minister of Walloon Economy, Belgium, and the President of the region of Västra Götaland, Sweden. Since the start in 2003 and up until this point Cine-Regio had been operating from the office of the founding member Wallimage, in Mons, Belgium.
